Nature Notes: Creative Journaling for Young Explorers
Hands on activity + presentation
Suitable for Kindergarten - Year 3In this workshop, children will explore a selection of native plants, using guided observation techniques to examine details such as leaf patterns, textures, and colours. This hands on session will include a brief interactive presentation that will help teach children the basics of nature journaling and show detailed examples. A microscope will also be available for children to explore and discover the tiny wonders of nature, enhancing their understanding of the natural world.

Blooms, Butterflies, Birds & Bugs!
Nature craft activity + presentation
Suitable for Kindergarten - Year 2Kids will create their own colourful butterflies, birds or bugs using materials like paper, paint, and natural elements. As they design and decorate their creations, they'll also learn about the native plants that these creatures depend on. The themes of this nature craft workshop can vary but have included in the past: Yellow-Tailed Black-Cockatoos and the native plants they feed on, butterflies and the local native plant species they rely on for survival, the life cycle of gum trees, Blue-Banded Bees and the native plants they pollinate, etc.

Suitable for Year 2 - Year 3This is an engaging indoor activity that transforms the wonders of native plants and animals into an enjoyable and exciting game. In this interactive activity, children will receive bingo cards featuring images of local flora and fauna. As we play, they will learn fascinating facts about each species, developing their understanding of biodiversity and the importance of conservation.
